Our Honeymoon Trip...

Well, I can honestly say that I'm still feeling the back and forth motion of being on a ship...2 1/2 days after debarking the cruise ship. We had so much fun. Last Saturday Brian's dad picked us up from the airport and then let us use his car. We hit one of the restaurants we wanted to eat at, then went to the hotel, which was a complete s***hole.

Sunday we went to Disneyland, it was hot but we had a good time. Afterwards we went over to Neal and Cathy's for a visit, and also saw Tracy there. It was great seeing everyone again. Later that evening we went to the Block at Orange for dinner, which was about the time I started feeling sick. It figures, on our big trip, I end up with the flu.

Monday we boarded the cruise ship. I was still feeling like crap but was trying my damndest to make the most of it. We took it easy Monday evening, had a nice dinner and just relaxed.

Tuesday the ship docked in San Diego. We didn't get off the ship, I was still really weak, and couldn't keep any food down. We just walked around the ship, played some ping pong for a short while, and napped. One thing I can say...Thank God for Pepto Bismol. We went to the infirmary and got some, and that seemed to be the turning point for me. Dinner went great and I started feeling much better.

Wednesday we were in Catalina Island. It was beautiful. We just walked around and did some shopping, and took pictures. I hope to go back there again someday for a visit, it was very relaxing. Later that afternoon on the ship, my wonderful turd of a husband gets lured into entering the men's belly flop competition on the ship at the pool...which he won. We had to buy the DVD from the cruise to have that moment...it was friggin hilarious. They got to do one jump...then before the second one they made them get on the platform when it was their turn and dance to music. The phrase 'white men can't dance' came to mind each time the guys got up there, except for Brian. All the people around me kept saying he was the best dancer, which was the truth. It was great.

Thursday was spent in Ensenada, Mexico...NOT impressed at all. We took a shuttle into town, and they drop you off about a block from where all the shops are. Problem is, you have to cross a major intersection to get to this area, and they have no stop lights, only stop signs, and if drivers feel like stopping they will. Needless to say, I refused to cross it because I cherish my life too much, so we walked back to the ship and did some shopping at a little marketplace of shops by the ship. I didn't like Ensenada at all, it was dirty and frankly not much of anything to see.

We returned to L.A. Friday morning, then spent some more time with Brian's dad. Later in the afternoon we surprised the kids with a quick visit, they were ecstatic. In the evening we had dinner with Tracy, then went over to Neal and Cathy's to visit and play pool...we had a blast. Yesterday morning we spent some more time with Brian's dad then he took us to the airport. All in all, it was a wonderful trip, we loved the cruise, and can't wait to take another one next year.

It's good to be back home, and I have great memories from an awesome trip with the love of my life.

Vegas Update and Other Trips...

Well, Vegas was fun, although not near as much fun without Brian. My cousin and I had fun, we hit several casinos and played bingo (yes, bingo, with all the little old battle axes who kept winning). I saw Phantom of the Opera at the Venetian, EXCELLENT show. I had never seen it before so that was a real treat. I would definitely go see it again. Friday night we went to the House of Blues for a bit. We didn't stay long because my cousin has a bad back, and they have no place to sit...let me rephrase that. They have tables by the dance floor, however in order to reserve one, you have to purchase a bottle of liquor from a list, and the cheapest bottle was $175. BS.

Brian and I are taking our "honeymoon" the last week of October. We're flying to L.A., spend some time with his dad and the kids, and then we're taking a 4 day cruise from there. I can't wait, this will be my 5th cruise and Brian's 1st, so it should be a fun adventure for him.

Other than that, the job is going well, we're starting a bible study class at church, our fall bowling league starts up next weekend, and the church volleyball league should be starting up in the next few weeks as well, so we're plenty busy.

My best friend is in the Army reserves and is in North Carolina right now. She's coming back home this weekend so we're going to spend some time with her. The way it looks, she's going to be deployed overseas right after her time in N.C., probably to Iraq. I'm really upset about it and only can pray like mad for her safety. Please keep her and all the other troops in her thoughts.

Hope all is well...keep in touch (sorry I haven't been around much lately).

Busy Busy Days...

Hope everyone is doing well, sorry I haven't been around lately but I have read blogs, just haven't had much chance to respond to them.

We had the kids here for a visit for 2 weeks, they left this last Tuesday. It was a great time, and they didn't want to go. They've made it very clear that they want to live here and we'd love to have them here, it's just a matter of the legal costs to fight for custody. They'd do so much better here, it's a better environment for them and unlike with their "mother", they'd get the right kind of attention here. While they were here we took them down to Branson, MO, to Silver Dollar City, Oceans of Fun here in KC, shopping (of course!) and a variety of other things. We're planning to bring them back here for Christmas and New Years so we're all looking forward to that.

Anyway, just working hard, playing volleyball, bowling and trying to swim when we can. Brian had knee surgery 2 weeks ago and he's slowly but surely doing better and working his way completely off the crutches. He'll be glad to be able to bowl again. He's also going to be playing in the praise band at our church, playing bass guitar and probably drums as well, so I can't wait to watch him playing up there *drool*

Hope everyone is doing well...here's a couple pics from their visit...

Got our tickets for the DL show in KC...

We decided to splurge on the tickets for the DL show here in September. We got 4th row with VIP passes to I guess what's an air conditioned area, where they serve food and beverage (at your cost, of course). I guess normally the only way you can get the passes is if you're a season ticket holder at the ampitheatre, which to me isn't worth it because they seem to only have 4 out of 15 good shows a year. Anyway, I'm looking forward to the show, should be a good time. We have our tickets for Sammy Hagar on July 16th, and we have 14th row for Poison/Cinderella on July 22nd. I'm SO ready for concert season...I swear I'm going through withdrawal LOL

I know most people have been reading Brian's bulletins on My Space about his dad's lung cancer surgery. I just want to thank everyone for their thoughts and prayers. It's been really hard on Brian but he's handling it like a trooper. His dad still has his great upbeat attitude, and he seems to be making those baby steps in the right direction. It was a very tough surgery for an 80 year old man to go through, but I think he handled it better than a lot of people my age would have. I'll be so happy to see him back home and well on the road to recovery.

We've started looking at apartments for my mom, to get her moved here to KC. I really hope that happens soon, we need to get her out of that cess pool they call Topeka. Hopefully by the end of the summer she'll be moved.

We're flying the kids back on July 11th for 2 weeks, they're really excited. I think it'll be fun (but if I post a picture of me bald, you'll know why LOL)

Anyway, not too much else...hope everyone had a great weekend.
